Hello followers, I've been reading an interesting book called "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time". This book is very unique because of it's style of writing and the general plot of the story. To go a little furhter into detail, the style of writing of this story is very basic and not complex (which you get a little taste of by reading the title). The writer doesn't use metaphors, symbols or any advanced pieces of writing and everything is straight to the point. This is because the book is written by an autistic child, named Christopher, so he doesn't understand how to describe the situation with an advanced style of writing. The book isn't actually written by an autistic child, the author simulates the writing in a book that Christopher writes. In the story, a Christopher finds a dead dog an his neighbour's lawn with a fork through it's body. He concludes that the dog has been killed and he decides that he is going to find out who killed it. He tells his father about this and his father tells him not to meddle in other people's business. He begins writing this story in a book and that book is "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time". The story takes place in England, around 1990. So far, Christopher has told us that his mother had died from heart problems (which we find out later isn't true) and that he and his father are living alone. One of there neighbours tells Christopher that his mother had an affair with Mr. Shears, who is the husband of the lady who's dog had been killed. All of this has been written in the book and his father finds the book and sees that Christopher knows about his mother's affair. His father gets very mad and throws the book in the garbage (which gets you wondering how the book was finished) and fights Christopher. He tries to find the book in the garbage but doesn't see it so he looks for it in the house and finds it hidden in his father's room with some unopened letters to Christopher. He takes the letters and reads them. These letters tell us the truth about his mother. These letters are from Christopher's mother to him and they tell us that she didn't die and that she moved out to live with Mr. Shears. His father finds him reading these letters and gets mad at himself for never telling his son the truth about his mother. He explains to Christopher why he lied to him about his mother and tells him that he killed the dog. Christopher gets scared that his father might kill him as well so he leaves the house and decides that he will go and live with his mother. I am currently at this point in the story and I am very intrigued about the rest of the story and how Christopher will continue his story. I'm already over half way through the book so this is a late post but I will be posting much more frequently now so keep watching for more about the book and how I feel about it.
